Blue English Bulldogs are a color that is a diluted black. They have a coat that should look shiny and when in the sun or against black objects, should look grey unless there is the Seal gene present. In that case, there may be a maroon (or other colors) undertone. In some, there is a fawn undercoat when the hair is rubbed backwards but not in all cases and the foot pads, eyeliner and nose are always a blue and grey, which varies from light colors to dark but is not mistaken for black.
The genotype for the blue gene is [dd].
This is a blue and tan Trindle with a body that is solid blue and minimal white which is found only on the chest area.
This color combination is tan/Trindle points with blue and white in any design.
The Blue Seal is blue and white in any design and can have a full black and tan base, which indicates tan pointed. Since the Seal gene is higher in the hierarchy, the points are there but covered by the Seal gene.
This is a Blue Merle with any design and the foot pads, nose and eyeliner will be blue.
The Blue Platinum or Blue Platinum Fawn will be all white with hardly any color or no color (less than 10 percent) on the body. If there is any color it will be on the tail or face.
This color combination is blue and fawn stripes with white markings that can be in any design. Blue Brindle has either ayay or ayat at agouti and carry at least one Kbr gene. However, a Brindle cannot be atat or have a Kb gene.
These are either Blue Fawn, Blue Fawn and White, or Solid Blue Fawn, or Blue Fawn and White in any design. The nose, foot pads and eyeliner will be blue but the hair is fawn.
