Lilac English Bulldogs are not lilac at birth but start out black then are diluted twice by the chocolate gene and then the blue gene. This is possible with a combo gene — a combination of full blue and full black.
A lilac coat is shiny with light and darker shades and should look similar to the gray in a Weimaraner. Depending on what lighting the dog is in, some under color shine will be pink or green (and in between). The pads of the foot, the eyeliner and nose will always be a shade of either lilac or purple.
The body is a solid lilac with either little white or no white at all — only on the chest area. The tan points are either brindle or clear.
This color combination is lilac and white and can be any design with Trindle or Tri points.
This color is lilac and white and can be in any design combination.
This color is lilac merle in any color and the foot pads, nose, eyeliner and patches will be either purple or lilac.
This color is lilac platinum or lilac fawn and sable. The body is all white with very little to no color — typically less than 10 percent. If there is color, it will be on the face and/or tail.
In the lilac brindle combination, there will be lilac and fawn stripes with any design of white markings.
With lilac fawn/sable color combinations, there is either lilac fawn/sable, lilac fawn/sable and white, or solid fawn/sable or fawn/sable and white in any design of white. The hair will be a fawn color with a nose, foot pads and eyeliner that is either purple or lilac.
